New drone-based cable tracking system successfully tested for nearshore wind farm cable surveys. Uses Seekable technology with flux gate magnetometers mounted on a drone to detect buried cables up to 4-8m deep.
Enables safer surveys in hazardous surf zones and rapid fault detection. Field tests in France (October 2024) demonstrated system's effectiveness at various heights and tidal conditions.
